Categories: Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.1/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web
A tiny man-made canon fort island designed to protect Tokyo against US gunboats, Daiba Park offers panoramic views of the city’s skyline, with Rainbow Bridge, Fuji TV tower, Decks Tokyo Beach, and nearby Odaiba Park’s Statue of Liberty visible. Remains of canons, an old artillery battery, and that of a boat launch stand on the island, surrounded by maple, zelkova, and pine trees. Spanning 29,963 sq m (322,519 sq ft), the island opened as a park in 1928 and was connected to the mainland by a landfill. The park sits 12 minutes by foot from either Odaiba-Kaihin-Koen or Tokyo Teleport stations. • First time to Tokyo and walked around Daiba Park from the Hilton Odaiba Tokyo hotel past various restaurants and shops
  • If you like Gundam this is worth to check out and have a feel on how Gundam's size will be if they really build one for combat. There is also a show around 7pm in the evening, the only down side is that only the Gundam's head will move the rest is stagnant. Some light shows and steam here and there. That's about it.
  • The old fortified island. It's a nice place for a picnic or view gazing. Asides that there isn't much to do. The maintenance could be better.
  • I got lost and i came across this place. The people seemed nice there.
  • Nice view of the sunset and odaiba bridge. Very well maintained.
  • Nice park around the edge of the island. If you are on foot or bike, make sure you leave early if going over rainbow bridge as the pedestrian access closes later afternoon
