This was my very first tour like this and it was a lot of fun. I live in Tokyo for over two years now, but it was interesting to see that there's still so much to see and to learn about this city and its many places. Since I love to eat fish and seafood, I thought this tour might be perfect for me. Our tour guide Lauren described everything very well and gave us so many details about the fish market, the groceries you can get there and some family businesses. We always had the free time to take photos or to film. Everyone was kind and we had a good time. Lauren chose a lot of delicious snacks and dishes for us and gave us some great recommendations. It was an amazing atmosphere to discover the lively fish market in the morning. It was an amazing experience and I would absolutely do another tour as well. You can learn so much in that time, taste so many good things and meet friendly new people who have the same interest like you. Let's face it - everyone comes to Japan to taste the good food.
Thank you very much for such a wonderful experience. Our guide, Yuko-san, was very friendly and welcoming. She went out of her way to explain all the food to us, give background on its history and provide us with general fun facts about the area and Japan. We had fun every step of the way! Thanks!
After my first your with them for Kyoto, I signed up for their Osaka tour (Shinsekai) and learned so much in just 2 hours! Not only was my belly filled, my head was also filled with so much of culture knowledge & tips thanks to our guide. We got to try tons of local food, shared among the group which was just nice. Keeps you coming back for more that for sure! Meet up point and reminders were pretty straight forward, our guide was there waiting for us with a sign (can't miss it), guided us through the whole night, letting us try not only food but also some local activities and at the end of it you'll definitely gain some new friends.
Mitzy was an awesome food guide. We started out a restaurant with small appetizers and ended up at a restaurant that served family style with an array of food items. It was a great experience to connect, talk with a local, and experience a taste of Japan. I would do this tour again!
Our guide Yoko was extraordinary. She went above and beyond by not only taking us to excelent restaurants with great food but also explaining the significance of each food item and teaching us the history of the food. Her english was great and since she has lived in both the US and Australia we were able to have some very interesting cultural conversations with her. Lastly to top it all off she made each one of us an origami crane to serve as a reminder of the great experience. I would tell anyone going visiting Tokyo that this food tour is a must do.
