Doesn't look like a building you'll expect to see when in Japan, because it's modeled after a Baroque-style building. Beautiful grounds with nicely manicured gardens. Walking distance from the nearest...  more »

We have got tickets on the day of my visit, but not very much, got a ticket to enter and leave. We have European-style building is in the volunteer guides who variously taught, so interesting to hear. Is casually put occasional lamps, desk and noticed that myself. Elaborate and none is interesting. And the people who have been in the Palace of Europe, however, seems a little to small I may feel. But if only this building in Tokyo and 10 minutes. There is a café in the front yard, get a snack.

In the Japanese style annex pre-registration attended. In summer, usually visit fee ¥ 1,500 was 2,000 yen. Guest House only, without reservation on the day of admission. You can enter the early Japanese-style annexe is a time to go and look forward to the Guest House. Japanese style annex have been served to feel like Japan is worth a look. Possible to see only from the outside and small piece of the gardens. Nice place if you are walking around but not an absolute must-go. The western-style architecture is quite interesting though. Reminded me of a small Buckingham.

Magnificent architecture. Almost as grandiose as Buckingham palace. It's open to public certain times of the year (information is on the website). Although the admission fee is a bit expensive (1,000 yen), worth checking out.

The main building opens for public today. We can visit inside the building, main garden and front garden. Today we visited Kacho No Ma Hall and Hagoromo No Ma Hall. Photo taking is not allowed inside the building.

Nice place to visit when the grounds are opened to the public (happens a few times a year).

Where to stay in Tokyo

Tokyo abounds with excellent places to stay, from luxury affairs to humble budget-friendly lodgings. Its glittering skyscrapers house numerous international four- and five-star hotels, both in the populous cultural hotspots of Shinjuku and in the business centers of Akasaka and Shinbashi. Meanwhile, hostels catering to the shoestring traveler lie scattered throughout the city. For a memorable, distinctly Japanese experience, seek out a ryokan, a traditional bed and breakfast with tatami floor mats and sliding screen doors.
