  • Took us forever to find the place. It's located across the road from Panasonic museum and right before the Dentsu building. To any one looking to go, the museum will reopen on November 1st. Sad I miss...  more »

  • The only museum I find interesting. The history of Japanese advertising with occasional special exhibitions about award winning commercials, copy etc. It's all free too! The only downside is that there's little about the digital advertising if today, but then it's run by Dentsu, the king of commercials.
  • This is bull$hit - we spent half an hour walking around this highrise complex looking for this museum - finally walked down about 5 floors of steps (thanks designers) - eventually found we were in the wrong building - the Canyon Terrace! - found the Caretta Mall - but despite staring at 4 different maps and bad signage we never found this effing museum - supposed to be on B2F - if an example of the ad maxim 'baffle' em with BS' - it totally worked - but I ain't buying what they're selling - and I suggest you don't bother either.
  • Excellent translations and english material. Helpful staff (got my forgotten umbrella back!). Large variety of ads and lots of effort was put in. Got 2 postcards for filling out a survey. Very impressive considering entry was free and it doesnt feel like a gigantic ad for the ad company. Online ads were not really discussed at all, just a few marketing campaigns. Some criticism towards mass consumerism and manipulation through ads would have been nice (Im a critic to say the least) but I didnt expect it yet was positively surprised by the exhibition. No photos allowed inside!
  • advertising museum tokyo - a fascinating museum of advertising where almost half the exhibits have English language. If you have a keen interest in advertising you will love this place. I could have watched ads there for hours and hours.
