Historic Site
Wander around Chiran Samurai Residence Garden, a picturesque manicured environment preserved for over 250 years. Explore what lies behind high, hedge-topped walls, a hidden world steeped in history, unblemished by modern day scenes. Made up of seven gardens, each was designed by gardeners brought in specially from Kyoto in the 17th century, with the intention of the garden being viewed from the houses above. Sadly, this cannot be done, as the houses are still occupied, but you still have the freedom to explore each of the seven individual gardens in your own time, viewing intricately pruned trees and shrubs, and the ancient defensive walls. • This is a really peaceful well preserved samurai area and was made more interesting somehow by the fact that people still live in many of the houses. Be careful to pay - it is easy to miss where to do...  more »
  • According to the return of the suicide Center. 代払i parking tickets 500 yen in pay 200 yen. Orderly fence certainly beautiful, but essential garden is any garden is similar to check tickets, making people, feels alot of pay in this. Moreover parking Hall side is 200 yen, 500 yen, and middle of the tourist centre set aside one more notch side of the alley behind the headlines there and free. I parked in the tea shop, I bought the tea. Its sides are unkind. No sense gotta show up in the room after 10% shop or restaurant, and why Asian grocery store, residents living nearby to take. It is a place to enjoy the atmosphere. For more samurai was walking funny.

  • “Noble Samurai Houses & Gardens” The samurais have a reputation of being calm and in a zen like state and it's no wonder with these beautiful gardens and houses they lived in they are so peaceful and so well groomed, from the moment you walk into these gardens there's and feeling of nostalgia and nobility, I wish that I could have a small replica garden like these (food for thought).
