• Last year, this year here we decided to. Of prayers in the hustle and bustle of decent where there were no still serves around shops and stalls if you go in the last two days of morning 9 o'clock, many people, went on the morning of new year's day this year was lined up about 200 people. Gate 2, in both a formal entrance of Kana? Being large, and purify it of nawate as water entered from the side. Missed the much fuller last year. To become a good year because after I went here again this year (. > Person <) is what the parking here is not speaking what? Is still the major gate parking convenient I guess?

 • 4 pillar shrine to short I had, at the entrance into the height exceeding 2 m of big turned figurine = bite Samurai stayed. Here is the description of frogs. In preparation for the new year's shrine is decorated with shimenawa and kadomatsu, there was a solemn air. Had lots of pigeons on the roof, but was feeling calm and beautiful shrine. Matsumoto Castle's Winterlude and returning to try again.

 • At Matsumoto Castle walk from Matsumoto station, then stopped. Nawate-Dori and can feel free to close. Noticing when a large Torii, which is why head to Matsumoto castle had passed. Still can nawate-Dori, Naka-machi shopping street and close to the order in which around, very convenient.

Where to stay in Matsumoto

Matsumoto strikes a balance between the old and the new in its accommodations, as it does with most other aspects of its urban design and culture. The area directly around the main train station houses many of the newer options in town, including some large hotels, both basic and luxury, and a couple of smaller, family-run options. The more historic area north of here has hotels and "ryokan" (guesthouses) with a little more history and character, and with the main attractions of the old town on their doorsteps. The surrounding rural area features a number of hotels with "onsen" (traditional Japanese spas) and campsites.
