Yaegaki Shrine, Matsue

4.4
Visit the site of Japan's first wedding, Yaegaki Shrine, a Shinto shrine popular with those looking for "En-musubi," the spiritual force that brings couples together. Dedicated to the gods of marriage and matchmaking, the shrine's grounds reveal many phallic symbols and carved wooden statues, and a pond where couples place pieces of paper in the hope that it will give them a long and fruitful marriage. An artwork depicting the enshrined Princess Inata covers a wall of the attached treasure house; painted onto Japanese Cypress, the mural has been considered one of the oldest shrine wall murals in the country. It is near about 10 minutes by bus from Matsue Station. On weekdays for a very quiet, leisurely visits. Mirror pond is located in the Woods, was a place of mystique. Horoscopes every day in the paper floated on the pond (in 100 yen purchase) lying on the 10 yen coin, sinking speed and location. I do 2 minutes away near-up and sank. You will have a good match? I think it is worth a visit anyway, even with the fortune teller.

Young people rarely at the shrine of the other group and it was crowded. Nice thought, full of energy. Take a short walk to reach the mirror pond is exciting. Was very large and strange, such as Cedar or Camellia. Protect opt, lots of fun.

A must see spot when you come to Matsue. Plenty of parking and there is a cafe down the street. You can wish for love.

You must visit this place with your girlfriend. First visit a office in the shrine and get the fortune telling paper, then go to the mirror pond. You can float the paper on the pond and see if you can get along with your impirtant person

Within the much larger but feel very Holy atmosphere and pass through the gate, and at once again feel. 頷kemashita's mirror pond and trees feel the wish come true. Susano-o as the very charm we have from the furnitures in the weather was cloudy but clouds are fine cracks. My favorite shrine three fingers into. Also take a look at initiate younger you want to is. It's not a 5-point scale is where access is limited because it is not a famous tourist destination. It is recommended from Izumo airport around 30 km away, so will be going by car.

Where to stay in Matsue

With its canals, rivers, and lakes central to the look and everyday life of Matsue, many visitors arrive wanting a view of the water. And they're certainly in luck, because the city has placed its primary accommodations up close to the waterways. Traditional "ryokan" (guesthouses) with "onsen" (traditional Japanese spas) sit to the north of the river, while a good number of basic hotels lie to the south. Look around the countryside to the south for clusters of retreats in scenic areas, including traditional ryokan and modern hotels with onsite onsen.
