Miho Shrine, Matsue

4.6
A large thatched wooden shrine dominating a fishing village against spectacular mountainous landscape, Miho Shrine boasts the oldest music box in Japan, as well as two ritual dugout-canoes designated as national cultural property. Set in a harbor and linked to the legend of Hagoromo, a robe of feathers, this is the most important of 3,000 Ebisu shrines, which protect fishermen and commerce. Browse through a collection of 846 musical instruments dedicated to Ebisu, and watch monks wind-dry a fresh catch of squid. The shrine has a reputation for encouraging harmony between married couples. With our custom trip planner, Matsue attractions like Miho Shrine can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

Could not forget the impression when last visited in the snow in February, is the second visit. This is the place for it is a fact that had some sort of ritual made the ancient sanctuaries, but even my amateur feel to it. Sea view from the shrine. I buy is ever totally was interested in the temple at the nokyo-sho book attractively designed red snapper and rice want seen. You want to visit again.

From Matsue went riding on the bus. Because there was no direct bus is a transit bus in the middle. Wasted time and doesn't look at the timetable. Local fishing is like the sea shrine, Izumo-Taisha and fit production went in to overthrow and the blessings of marriage. Time is early too, and souvenir shops are open, hours after the Shrine had trouble busting.

Around noon on Sunday arrived at the car. Came running along the coast, so it feels good. There were pochipochi visitors. Ebisu's head so thick this shrine is. Thumping up as I. Pilgrims rest, directly feel the shrine to the shrine. In front of the Torii gate sells baked squid 1500 yen and is a little expensive.

Where to stay in Matsue

With its canals, rivers, and lakes central to the look and everyday life of Matsue, many visitors arrive wanting a view of the water. And they're certainly in luck, because the city has placed its primary accommodations up close to the waterways. Traditional "ryokan" (guesthouses) with "onsen" (traditional Japanese spas) sit to the north of the river, while a good number of basic hotels lie to the south. Look around the countryside to the south for clusters of retreats in scenic areas, including traditional ryokan and modern hotels with onsite onsen.
