A landmark of Marugame city perched on Mount Kameyama, Marugame Castle features the original castle donjon tower, one of the 12 remaining in Japan. Get magnificent panoramic views of the city, Mount Iino, Shiwaku Islands, and Great Seto Bridge as you climb to the top of the castle. Built in 1597, the castle features a huge 500-600 m (1,640-1,970 ft) long stone wall, which rises up to 50 m (164 ft) above ground level at points. The wall is named after a folding fan, a symbol of the area, and you can even take part in a fan-making workshop in the castle by appointment. Easily visible from many spots in the city, the castle sits about 1 km (0.6 mi) from Marugame station. • Marugame Castle, hyakumeizan (百名山) in Japan, and is one of the extant Castle 12 Castle. I think it does not go up quite uphill to visit the castle atop the Hill. However, it also fun walking in the stone wall. Because the remains of the old castle is a small but historic romance can be felt. In the beautiful season, cherry, Castle had me along with Aya. This is the Castle where you cut in the overall picture.

  • It is a castle with one of the few castles surviving. Amazing 360-degree panorama is seen here as a local one. Seto-Ohashi bridge when the weather is good and looks up the washuzan mountain in Okayama.

  • 100 is one of the Castle. You can check also boasts the tallest stone is seen from a distance. And a close look at its height is overwhelming, I would look up. Conversely without impact as a stone castle, is disappointingly small.

  • It is a very beautiful castle, a splendid stone wall. Open view and climb steep slopes, has far-reaching views all around. I was surprised people in the past such expensive, beautiful stone-laden technology.
