Where to stay in Kyoto

Kyoto spoils visitors for choice when it comes to good accommodations, offering everything from traditional ryokans to luxury Western-style hotels. In a city used to receiving foreign travelers, you'll find that most establishments know exactly what to offer tourists and how to help newcomers to the area. To avoid paying premium prices during the cherry blossom season, consider staying in Osaka, located just a 30-minute train ride away. If you must stay in Kyoto itself, keep in mind that centrally located hotels charge more than those in the outer neighborhoods.

  • Small temple with hundreds years old bloody footprints and stains on the ceiling! (It was once the floor in another residence) It is all Japanese, but there was a nice guy explaining it in broken English. Highly recommended.
  • Don't pay to enter the two room tour, it's not in English. But the ceiling is made out of the floor where samurai's bleed to death at Fushimi Castle, creepy!
  • What the curious temple itself is very good, and built by Toyotomi towards upstream side Temple, married Tokugawa that is reconstructed. Temple name originates from the cost of Azai Nagamasa. But you've got to shut the Gates himself as a tourist destination in the minor even one minute late at home and made him go over the bolt, drive home, and then we to do? Level said. Very beautiful garden is not dwelling on blood ceiling is not to be missed. Said blood ceiling uses a Torii mototada on his position, compared to other blood ceiling, hand-shaped leg type blood reservoir trail pretty fresh. There is something heartfelt hands together.
