  • Private Tea Ceremony was fun, a relaxing break from the crowds of the Golden Pavillion. We learned history and appreciated even more the culture of Japan while engaging in the ceremony with our host. ...  more »
  • Today afternoon we visited Rae with her beautiful mom. It was a very pleasant experience to be able to live with them, as always 100% Japanese hospitality. We put on a Kimono, they taught us the preparation of the tea ceremony, and we prepared one. I highly recommend it. I loved it!!!

  • This tea ceremony course was really authentic and interesting. I really liked the fact that we had the possibility to prepare some tea ourselves and were not just watching how to do it. The course was led by a lovely young woman, who perfectly performed the single steps of the ceremony, as she has learned this tradition from some grand masters.
  • If you are looking for a tea ceremony experience in Kyoto here is where you should come. Historical building, excellent guide who can speak English well.
  • Rie was very friendly though we were late. We took ikebana class too. She explain everything, yet all the information was enough for a beginner for us, not too much. Too bad I forgot to record the whole ceremony. The location is very near to Kinkaku ji, you might want to plan it together with it.
  • Very fluent in English, flexible in timings, friendly human being
  • Very interesting experience. Rie was a very gracious and knowledgeable host. I learned a lot. She answered any questions we had. The location is walking distance from the Golden Pavillion so it is very convenient. Also, check out her blog for a lot of great information.
