  • It is coming out on the detective novel of the Kyoto Temple. Togetsu-Kyo, I just remebered I went. Over the togetsu bridge upstream to walk along the hozu River. You can't get in the car where the road narrows parting can be not so. While admiring views of the hozu River about 20 minutes walk takes you to the back of Kyoto. Meet the little people here, unlike on the other side. Landscape is a hog State. Here is a stone stairway. Bell Tower and attach bells to far out of breath you can. Watching the hozu river views while soaking up the afterglow of the Bell is unclear. Temple went up a little bit from the Bell Tower. Honest wealthy still at the temple is different from going would be disappointed, but very comfortable mind. Admission fee is 400 Yen. Those who want to be immersed in the silence is recommended.

  • Amazing walk in autumn along the gorge and then a medium hard climb up to this small Zen Buddhism outpost. Stunning views across and along the gorge. Can also see Kyoto across the way. Well worth the effort to reach this serene spot. Escaping the crowds is also a big bonus. Costs 400 yen when you reach the temple. Well worth it.
  • Very beautiful view of Arashiyama and Kyoto. The temple is off the beaten path and one of my Kyoto favorites! A visit is highly recommended!
  • Worth the trek, very friendly staff, and free tea. Very secluded with few tourists, so peaceful.
  • After a bit of hiking and stair climbing, I was rewarded by a gorgeous view of the Katsuragawa gorge right below and Kyoto City in the distance. During the fall color tourism season, Kyoto is inundated by tourists. But all you need is a pair of good shoes and a bit of instincts to find a place like this where you can appreciate the things you expected of in Arashiyama minus the crowds.
  • Magnificent view + helpful monk, who speaks English well and gives a brief introduction to the temple and its founder. Found this to be a more spiritual place than the places down in Kyoto...
