Sagano, Kyoto

(4.1/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
The well established and otherworldly bamboo grove of Sagano conjures images of myth and legend, towering high above your head and splintering the sunlight. Along with the mesmerizing grove (also voted one of the 100 best soundscapes in the world), you'll find picturesque temple buildings to explore, reputedly aiding worshippers in fertility. Explore on foot, by bike, or by rickshaw, or step on board the celebrated scenic train ride--and don't forget your camera for the very photogenic atmosphere. The attraction can get busy, however, so consider arriving early to get a full experience. Work out when and for how long to visit Sagano and other Kyoto attractions using our handy Kyoto vacation builder.

  • Sagano is not limited to places that go overlooked persimmon Hall, hirosawa pond, jikjisa Temple, daikakuji Temple Guide. You can pick up at a price affordable fresh vegetables and rice terraces immersed in the ' small tour ' on the way up there, even though in the Kyoto City. You can exchange with local people and nothing else. Sagano no round in. Without relying solely guides the head to take a look at.

  • The food is amazing here. Yes, they are expensive. But worth every single yen. It was for me, some of the best Japanese cuisine I have had in a long time. I look forward to eating here in the future.
