Stroll through bamboo forest Arashiyama and approaching the nonomiya shrine suddenly became more tourists because there is Nomiya shrine said matchmaking power spot. Nomiya shrine main shrine enshrines the Nomiya Okami (sun goddess), Nomiya pagoda Shrine on the left is the God of marriage. Said stroked jinseki (, kameishi) more wishes come true, but many people not take visits there. Tastefully arranged stone lantern and go right back to MOSS garden that was a little bit away from the hustle and bustle.

Not the best temple to spend your time at due to the amount of people who pass through. It looks very nice if you can get there early or in the evening.  more »

Great place to see if you're a tourist. Everything had descriptions in English (and some other languages were also available here and there).

Another very beautiful shrine. Worth a visit and is a good day trip in from Kyoto.

Largest temple/shrine grounds in all of Kyoto, and you're invited to walk, bicycle, or even drive through the grounds of this holy place, on your way to anyplace else you're headed....even when this place is closed.

Where to stay in Kyoto

Kyoto spoils visitors for choice when it comes to good accommodations, offering everything from traditional ryokans to luxury Western-style hotels. In a city used to receiving foreign travelers, you'll find that most establishments know exactly what to offer tourists and how to help newcomers to the area. To avoid paying premium prices during the cherry blossom season, consider staying in Osaka, located just a 30-minute train ride away. If you must stay in Kyoto itself, keep in mind that centrally located hotels charge more than those in the outer neighborhoods.
