Enjoy a 360-degree panorama from the top of Kyoto Tower, the tallest building in Kyoto. The 131 m (430 ft) tall tower was opened in 1964 to coincide with the Tokyo summer olympics, and stands on top of a hotel and shopping complex. Visit the observation deck, which is nestled at a height of 100 m (328 ft), to observe the skyline of the whole city. • If you have a little time there she is located right opposite the station. The viewing platform is 100 meters of height in good weather you can see up to Osaka and realize the extent of Kyoto, 7 th city of the Japan with nearly a million and a half inhabitants. Open in 1964 at the Olympic GAMES she may seem a bit dated but it's still a great building.

  • Looking down from the city of Kyoto is saying no body and lid, but are not, and. Just over there, what is that? And will be looking for. And find the look, but what little I. But it is so. Hopefully close to such a great value. And there are a variety of buildings in the district looking for the temples and shrines are found in the Sun. But it is so. Depending on the weather in Osaka abenobashi would seem even the designation of abeno that somehow when seeing from the designation also Kyoto Tower? Like. It would be nice to once because it is crowded with tourists well variety. It is difficult to take photos on the design of the Observatory, I.

  • Their observatory deck is smaller than my expectation but it gave beautiful view of the entire town in all directions (360°). We bought our ticket in the Kansai Tourist Information Center and got discount price (¥600 from ¥770), and it was worth it. You can easily locate famous spots in Kyoto with their free binnocular. We went on a sunny day and got to see Osaka as well.
  • The tower isn't very tall, but that's fine because it's taller than anything else in Kyoto, and right in the centre, so you get a great view of the entire city and surrounding area. It's only ¥750, so it's pretty cheap, at the top is a commemorative stamp, some souvenirs, photo opportunity with Tawawa-chan the tower mascot, on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, and plenty of free binoculars. There are giant touchscreen displays with multi language options that have information on all the main sights. There's also a great view of the local and Shinkansen train lines as kyoto station is just next door. On a clear day you can even see far as Osaka. It's not a must do, but if you have an hour to spare it's perfect.
  • Excellent view of the area. Handy interactive maps and free use binoculars. Found it a bit silly that we were let off at the restaurant first when we were ready to leave. Maybe we would accidentally buy dinner or something. Did have as good time a time as when I visited Sky Tree though.
  • For an old relic (50 years) ish building, it has its charms. And being japanese, they put kawainess in everything. Don't believe me? Look at the mascot and you will be wanting to buy a souvenir. Go during sunsets for best exp
  • Great view from Kyoto Tower. Kyoto does not have a lot of tall buildings, but the panoramic view is pretty worth it thanks to the many iconic temples. The tower is right opposite Kyoto Central Station so you can't miss it.
