  • Phrase just trapped in the cage would have become a great Zoo Zoo, have been renewed, so I'm sure the various devices, the animal is immune to stress and filled with hope, for the first time I went to Kyoto City Zoo, but most kinds of animals, the location is perfect, alas, look hot and filled with tears when it was. Under the impression that only animals display, stand in the position of the animal and not come only for the guests, and breeding work as efficiently as possible, to avoid accidents, was not renewed. Seemed only for Gorilla cordially accomodations are poised, but looks are only covered for the study of intelligence, is complicated. I hope so are a lot of animals ' stress-induced stereotypy is improvement of non-根本的 would appreciate.

  • It is positioned as one of the cultural institutions of the Kyoto Heian Jingu Shrine, Museum of art, Kyoto, Japan's second oldest Zoo. I think facilities left over from before the renovation "monkey", "small amusement", "Fountain", forest elephant, newly formed the African Veld, nostalgic and new appearance to the parents and children to enjoy together. Weekly, weekend and set the animals eating time, hear the story of the keeper. It is recommended to visit and check the homepage specials from time to time, we can. Buffet restaurants in slow Jet coffee is a coffee shop in the facility came from Tokyo, Ken brood area for seasonal vegetarian.

  • Kyoto zoo is fairly small, but has a good assortment of animals and would be best for kids. My main issue with the zoo is it's care and enclosures. Unlike say, Ueno Zoo, the enclosures are not modern at all and seem somewhat poorly maintained. A number of the animals also seemed to be in questionable health as well.. not necessarily sick but underweight and stressed. Many of the enclosure lack adequate cover for the animals and some of the things that were being fed seemed questionable to me as well. I am not an animal husbandry expert, this is just my opinion based upon experience working with zoos, pet shops, etc. That being said, it is not a bad zoo and the 600yen cover charge is quite reasinable. Definitely worth a look if you enjoy animals.
  • I am not a big fan of zoos in general; I always feel the animals deserve more space and a more natural environment. The Kyoto City Zoo is no exception. Some of the exhibits, such as the gorillas and the chimpanzees, are quite good. The animals are in a fairly comfortable environment and yet easy to see. Other exhibits, such as the big cats and the Japanese macaques were just depressing. Overall, it is a clean and well-managed facility, but that is just par for the course in Japan.
  • Very good recreational facility for people of all ages to enjoy and learn together. This is surely way better choice than visiting monkey park of Mt. Awata in Arashiyama. Kyoto municipal zoo rocks. ( TGM Kyoto Guide )
  • Great zoo, good for kids. Carnival rides in the middle. Some enclosures seem quite small.
  • Small. Good for kids. But mature person will find it sad for various reasons. Lions and tigers are so skinny, I don't know why! Unexpected in Japan.
