  • Museum headed by bus from Kyoto station. From the A1, D1 and landing two, but there was a matrix D1 because of less A1 rode. But the traffic jams on the way, 40 minutes or more. In that case. Seems early, walked off in the middle. The National Museum of modern art, Museum of contemporary art, so note.

  • A great free museum to wander around on a rainy day. Some beautiful paintings, drawings and calligraphy.  more »
  • Kyoto Municipal Museum of art is a magnificent building. Lot of baggage lockers are located, so anyone can enjoy light. Dali exhibition was held in the 8/2016. Visited soon after lunch, but lined up a little just now admitted immediately. But coming out of the building, I was surprised! Long queues were made outside the building. In the Museum of fine arts was quite crowded. But it was fun because it was substantial. But especially the collaboration with Disney's animated short, happy. Proximity to the Heian shrine is conveniently located. Delicious Kyoto, such as the "岡北" there are noodle restaurants. I would think either due to the contents of the exhibition, but also incorporated into the Kyoto tourism better.

  • We visited this museum during the Renoir exhibit which was very interesting and had pieces borrowed from collections around the world. Very beautiful area and quite affordable visit prices.
  • Dali exhibition! Talk about good timing! 16$ to see everything but the famous works, aka the real bulk of an artists work. Great exhibition.
  • This is the first museum I visited in Japan. They have always organized the special exhibition event. It's so valuable to spend time there.
  • An excellent place to view an exhibition of various art. Rated 4 out of 5 stars as an international tourist attraction ,has an insufficient number of English signs, and staff capable of speaking English.
  • Big museum where you can find always an exhibition, sometimes more than two at the same time and sometimes there's one for free

Where to stay in Kyoto

Kyoto spoils visitors for choice when it comes to good accommodations, offering everything from traditional ryokans to luxury Western-style hotels. In a city used to receiving foreign travelers, you'll find that most establishments know exactly what to offer tourists and how to help newcomers to the area. To avoid paying premium prices during the cherry blossom season, consider staying in Osaka, located just a 30-minute train ride away. If you must stay in Kyoto itself, keep in mind that centrally located hotels charge more than those in the outer neighborhoods.
