(4.4/5 based on 150+ reviews on the web)
An old imperial palace-turned-park, Kyoto Gyoen National Garden makes a good place for a long walk under trees in the midst of an ancient capital city. Several shrines scattered around the park provide a surprise factor for curious walkers strolling among cherry trees, magnolias, and plum trees in this well-kept area. Children can burn off steam in a playground with swings and sandboxes, while joggers and cyclists can exercise on gravel and grassy paths. You'll find public restrooms and vending machines across the park. Our Kyoto travel itinerary planner makes visiting Kyoto Gyoen National Garden and other Kyoto attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • It is a beautiful garden with extensive and well organized. We have just had the jidai Festival, so enjoy. Gravel roads and walking is a little more tired. Bring their dogs are OK, so I'm happy.
