Inside the main hall and can be viewed free of charge. Only otera still enshrined in Kyoto became the stage of the historic event, has left many historic ruins, such as as a result. Cemetery which fell victim to the Boshin war, and famous by Matsudaira katamori had headquarters in the late Edo period, Aizu Samurai. East of the main hall is a vast cemetery, also well known greats such as sleeping more. List and do-seiwa Emperor cremation mounds-komyoji Temple of deep tairano atsumori and Kumagai naozane-Ogo Tokugawa Hidetada's kitchen and son Tokugawa tadanaga-Kasuga-amago House vassals in the mountains, deer shinnosuke-Yamazaki ansai include would do. You can't be too rambunctious, and buried in the cemetery of any we are honoured because, basically, enters komyoji Temple worshippers also.

Many people do not know said "money konkai Komyo-ji Temple" of local people is another, but also on the whole, where is? Its location East of Kyoto, the hilly area located on the South side of Mt. Yoshida. To the taxi drivers, the place names in this area see kurodani-San (Han) and speaking, passing on the IPAC. This temple is not enclosed by fences around, not free to enter from the outside. Big gate but not gateway for tourists. With no admission, I'm glad that precincts can walk around freely. About temples still stand out capitalism is growing, but want to give from our testimonial "respectable, locals, and tourists loved both temples" is. Days of the Tokugawa shogunate, Kyoto City is rough Warrior among thieves, killers and royalism expulsion of foreigners sect, the shizoku who kill each other, such as increased. In contrast, Tokugawa shogunate hastily, appointed Lord of the Aizu clan in Kyoto shugoshoku (now prefect positions). And feudal Lord is at least thousands of people said the place brought out other Ronin (the predecessor of the Shinsengumi) and set up the base, it was this temple. Now onto the hills and scattered big gate, three-storied pagoda, Temple. Some such as shinnyo-do Temple is known as the autumn under the temple. But of the Tokugawa shogunate, now lined up many Buddhist temples "housing" was seems to be. And as a rule of the temple, around tightly surrounded by walls and was protected. Also overlooking the city of Kyoto is at the top of the Hill and then spread to the West. For this reason this temple was chosen as a stronghold. (After the Shinsengumi) was placed under the Aizu Lord 'warriors 'pairs' once in a while with quarters (Liaison Office) in the capital's West end, "Mibu (near the Shijo-Omiya)". However, duties, often had come up at this temple. Example "ikedaya riots (the choshu clan due to Kondo isami Shinsengumi loyalist who killed numerous incidents)" day mobilized from this evening, are members of the Shinsengumi. Further the ikedaya are divided into several groups, long secret meeting place of Patriots loyalist in Higashiyama area Inns, bars, while moves towards the West. Practitioner-choshu in the Takase River [Kazuyuki boat "noodles with close location of the ikedaya, Sanjo-Dori St. was along. Knowing the history and value of this temple and to improve. But except the autumn season, such as environment and usually with Garan. What do you mean? PR of the temple and it's because of the lack of tourists.

Peaceful. Old. Made me feel such a sense of gratefulness and thankfulness for my ability to be able to travel all the way to Kyoto to see this Buddhist temple. Very few people. Lots of places to explore. Beautiful cherry blossoms (Sakura) . Would highly recommend it if you're looking for something with less frills and a place that remains "old world"

They were doing the special viewing for the fall color season. It was worth every yen of ¥1,200 I spent to go up on the Sanmon Gate (三門), tour the main building, and then chill in the garden. Gorgeous maple colors in the garden and great view from the gate. Considering how crowded the whole town was for the fall color tourism season, this place was relatively quiet, which was a huge added plus.

One of the less well-known Kyoto temples, but well worth a visit. It's a massive complex, headquarters of the Joudoshu sect, with great views of Kyoto from the top of the graveyard. Spectacular cherry blossoms if you go in the spring.

The day I visited the Kurodani temple complex, I witnessed a kind of Buddhist ceremony with a monk chanting in Japanese inside one of the buildings

Where to stay in Kyoto

Kyoto spoils visitors for choice when it comes to good accommodations, offering everything from traditional ryokans to luxury Western-style hotels. In a city used to receiving foreign travelers, you'll find that most establishments know exactly what to offer tourists and how to help newcomers to the area. To avoid paying premium prices during the cherry blossom season, consider staying in Osaka, located just a 30-minute train ride away. If you must stay in Kyoto itself, keep in mind that centrally located hotels charge more than those in the outer neighborhoods.
