  • This quirky little museum is a few minutes' walk from the Manga Museum. My husband and daughters were initially sceptical at the idea of a kaleidoscope museum, but we all had a great time here. The st...  more »
  • A very quirky place! My kids loved it and it was a respite from all the temples we've been dragging them to. The best part is making your own kaleidoscopes afterwards for an extra small fee. There wer...  more »
  • This definitely isn't the top attraction in Kyoto but it was really neat and cheap (300 yen entry) and the artwork here on the kaleidoscopes is incredible. There's even a kaleidoscope shaped like a ge...  more »

  • Excellent small place, great break from being over templed! Great exhibits, interaction with all of them is possible and the staff are top notch in helping you when confusion ensues. At the end of the tour there's a great presentation when the lights are dimmed and kaleidoscopes are beamed onto the walls, very relaxing. Superb options at the end too, kaleidoscopes available for purchase to suit any budget and an opportunity to make your own!
  • This place is tiny, maybe spend 15 minutes here!!! That being said, it is the only kaleidoscope museum anywhere, so if you like kaleidoscopes, come here. I think this museum would be better as an exhibit in a larger museum, rather than being a stand alone museum.
  • If you like kaleidoscopes, this museum is a must. Such beautiful kaleidoscopes! And a spectacular light show, too.
  • Stunningly beautiful! More than worth the money (300 Yen per person). It is small but we spent more than 1,5 hours in there.
  • Very cute and different thing to see in amongst all the temple and shrine overload. Great staff to explain things and mesmerising projections at the end of the exhibit.
