  • The state of euphoria associated with the accomplishment of a hike up a hill or a mountain in a foreign city spiced up my exploration of this city. You gained a better insight of what the city offers ...  more »
  • While walking down the road hanging out philosophy and on foot starting exploring Jisho-JI (ginkaku-ji Temple) next to the trailhead and then to Heian Jingu Shrine 1/3. To the fire floor fire one way about 30 minutes. See from here is the third last time, as well as the previous city was excellent. But the clouds from the North (? ) Is coming up fast and seemed in a hurry down the mountain. Because traces are left paying the large so far down on the stairs, then left down down down, the snow is falling and everyone in society do not want became very anxious, people walked, falling to ensure that there was no mistake going down untouched. Best method for natural hospital. Was not intended at all, but had a beautiful garden. It is always better if you go without your homework, go back. Reflection.

  • Beverage's rites of summer. Lead and set on fire in this case, 5 minutes at intervals to ignite one after the other. Seen from a distance in the fall and on the surface of a mountain floating up sprawled and looks.

  • nice view and good exercise! even i enjoyed kyoto trail course from sanjyo area to here in two hrs.
  • This location is not the peak place to see whole Kyoto, it’s only a forest, and it’s dangerous for hiking, the true location for view Kyoto Skyline is 五山送火大文字, not this location.
  • Definitely worth a hike. If you climb up from the North end of the trail, it only takes about 30 mins to get to the fire place which sees the whole Kyoto from top. You can also start from south end of the trail which is near Kaege station, then it takes about one or one and a half hours to get there.
  • It is an amazing place to have view on Kyoto from the top, it is an easy track and it is worth it, can be a little crowded during weekends. It is worth it !
  • The view you get of Kyoto from up at the place for the "dai" bonfire is fantastic and off in the south you could see the skyscrapers of Osaka through the haze. The true summit was a lot calmer but the view the same (only a different angle).

Where to stay in Kyoto

Kyoto spoils visitors for choice when it comes to good accommodations, offering everything from traditional ryokans to luxury Western-style hotels. In a city used to receiving foreign travelers, you'll find that most establishments know exactly what to offer tourists and how to help newcomers to the area. To avoid paying premium prices during the cherry blossom season, consider staying in Osaka, located just a 30-minute train ride away. If you must stay in Kyoto itself, keep in mind that centrally located hotels charge more than those in the outer neighborhoods.
