Would really like to have visited this. Unfortunately it is closed for July 2017. The sign advising this was off to the side, not immediately obvious.  more »

Because like the tale of Genji is like before, I finally went. Central front of the Nishi hongan-ji Temple is on the fifth floor of the building and there is no passing by people who do not. Are displayed at the entrance of the building. Up on the fifth floor with elevator and opens the door, suddenly looks exhibition. Pay the admission fee: 500 Yen at the reception desk on the right. Is the one who came back at me one for a while because it was a weekday. One-quarter of part of article 6 of the model is the main. Building is, of course, and bamboo palms, accessory, yokoana very carefully are made. Different together while also clad doll, I was surprised. I read in a book, I imagine, but something like this was! The dolls is real. I think money is at stake in the costumes alone. Seems ever-changing exhibitions, but this exhibition "by Purple on the Lotus Sutra 1000 alms" did. Exhibit article VI of the Academy Palace, round up and look at, others feel that knock shougun, taketori-Monogatari and... a little old building on the first floor in the ceiling and white concrete remains. But if you see in the Museum it is a good, more inspiring. Very eyes it's not shame. I guess someone is doing as a hobby. Like the recently relocated, did not try on. Costume Museum, named the will-it is. And to say to the people.

Location is little changed from this year. Later building about 30 metres south from the old location. Scale and the content is almost the same, but no longer free dressing corner. It is too bad.

The Genji Costume Museum is just one room, and other than some clothing and musical instruments it features a meticulously constructed replica of a house described in The Tale of Genji. Unless you are a fan of the novel or want to see Heian-era living in three dimensions, it may not be of interest. Some years ago the museum allowed visitors to dress up in Heian-era clothes, but not anymore it seems. Photography is allowed and admission is 500 yen.

€ 5 entry to see costumes on miniatures... ouch ouch! It looks nice anyway because the Japanese have the attention to detail and this is well ^^

Where to stay in Kyoto

Kyoto spoils visitors for choice when it comes to good accommodations, offering everything from traditional ryokans to luxury Western-style hotels. In a city used to receiving foreign travelers, you'll find that most establishments know exactly what to offer tourists and how to help newcomers to the area. To avoid paying premium prices during the cherry blossom season, consider staying in Osaka, located just a 30-minute train ride away. If you must stay in Kyoto itself, keep in mind that centrally located hotels charge more than those in the outer neighborhoods.
