  • Funciona place to go sking . Great slopes
  • Nice resort with lots of off piste and relatively less people.
  • Excellent side of the mountain, great tree runs, great restaurant down the bottom, yum curry and Raman
  • Food was expensive for what it was. Other restaurants on the mountain have better and cheaper food on offer.

Where to stay in Kutchan-cho

A commercial and touristic center, Kutchan-cho offers a good set of accommodations, primarily close to the train station. The choice remains at odds with the upmarket nature of the shopping and eating venues in town, with some simple hotels and backpacker hostels providing primarily budget stays. This is because most visitors opt to stay instead in Hirafu, just south of Kutchan-cho. There you'll find a whole host of ski resorts, hotels, hostels, and guesthouses.
