  • I could feel the prosperity of Wu of the Meiji era. It is a Memorial you can feel the romance of the Western Chinese paper money, tower clocks, such as Meiji. Worth a look!

  • I tried walking irifune Memorial area. Get pretty hot during the day, so went to the relatively cooler in the morning hours. There are a lot of trees, you can stroll through the retro atmosphere, such as Western-style building and clock tower.

  • Irifune Mountain Memorial irifune Mountain Park North of the country important flights household Kure naval District Commander Chief official has become the Central "Army Wu" is a memorial that can know. Stayed on when defeating Russia's Baltic fleet in the battle of Tsushima in the Russo-Japanese war Japan Coalition fleet commander Togo Heihachiro, was Chief of the Kure naval district "Togo home housing away from" first of all welcome you at the entrance. And was revived and the paving stone in the Kure city walk "former Kure army arsenal tower clock" has been erected relocation remains and other memories of bygone days. Official House of Kure naval District Commander of main, and collapsed in the geiyo earthquake of June 0/1905 (1905), are built in the original, has become the current building was rebuilt, using the collapsed material during the same year. After World War II after World War II was painted by white 0/1956 (1956), British Commonwealth occupation Commander official use as wallpaper, white walls. Decision to restore that when reborn as a Memorial Hall was used, its whitewashed buildings, Heisei found drawings of the Commander with the first official residence, was used as the decoration of the hotel "Chinese paper money" also was restored after several renovations where it remains today. Back has become a Western front in the Western building, connected by a hallway is a Japanese-style house. As a guest house for the western portion at the time vogue of "British-style half-framed (food)" are becoming more employed, stained glass and furniture ordered in the United Kingdom. On the other hand, partial sum Hall was used as a residence is made simple for the Commander in Chief that the gap was busy "switch" of switch I was serving so well. After World War II had requisitioned BCOF (British Commonwealth occupation) is "Chinese paper money" that had been painted white by time. Wu also stood "an official House of Kure naval District Commander" of traces "obliterate" for seems to made. Don't agree to treat as I might be in position for victory and defeat countries if it did not, the historic buildings as an example. Relationship between country and country culturally overbearing attitude and its own "unwise" by "looks" is cannot change until the heart also changed. Felt like a symbol.

Where to stay in Kure

Kure has a few accommodations across its main urban center. Located within close proximity to the main museums and other attractions, they consist primarily of business hotels set in high-rise blocks, offering comfortable rooms, a pool, and a restaurant. Few international tourists opt to stay in Kure, however: having seen the museums and other sights during the day, most will head back to their accommodations in Hiroshima, just 30 minutes away along the coast by rail or car.
