Cape Hedo, Kunigami-son

(280+ reviews on the web)
The northernmost tip of Okinawa Island, Cape Hedo combines far-reaching ocean views and a rocky coastline. Walk along lush green trails that hug the cliffs' edge, gazing over clear blue water crashing against the rocks. Drop a coin in one of the many boxes to pay tribute to the gods of sea and wind, and look for the white stone sculpture of a mythical creature with the body of a fish and the head of a bird. If you're itching to get into the water, you'll find plenty of good spots for snorkeling and scuba diving. Put Cape Hedo at the forefront of your travel plans using our Kunigami-son vacation trip planner.

  • Beautiful northern tip of Okinawa. Views, nature, drinks and a water closet. Pacific Ocean meets East China Sea.  more »
  • North on route 51 from Naha city, is a drive of about 2 hours and a half. Weather permitting, so looks on Yoron Island. It is a very dangerous place can go to free Rocky.

  • Was able to enjoy the views, and didn't expect too much to be honest but a visit to the local walking tracks. Monument built to go around, and need a reasonable amount of time.

  • Beautiful scenery. You can see East China Sea from this vantage point. A small path leads you around the cape. Quite windy too.
  • Gorgeous scenery, well worth all the driving to reach the northern most point of Okinawa. Be rewarded by clear blue sea and big waves crashing against the cliffs. Note that the nearest eateries are about 25 min drive South, and some areas round the Cape don't have 3G/4G signals.
  • Nice open and wild scenery. We took the road 70 (east coast) to get there. Longer but a very enjoyable winding coastal road with almost nobody on it. If you are short on time, the road 58 (west coast) is faster and nice too.
  • Come on people !!, I don't know why or see why to give this place anything less than a 5 star rating. Quite an experience I can say. Yes it is a far drive, yes the roads are winding, yes there aren't much restaurants in the area, yes it can be windy, yes the terrain is rocky, grassy, hills..... If any of the above is a reason to give this place anything less than 5 stars, then something is wrong with you!!!!
  • Really peacefull, the water is so beautiful really. Really romantic I think, a place to go with your loved one.
