Kumamoto Castle suffered extensive damage in the Kumamoto earthquake (there is Kato shrine) region is off-limits in the seconded road to Kato shrine seconded road from Kumamoto Civic Center still closed also (pedestrian) and the East parking lot side (Kyo nightlights) now to get only from. The UTO turret No. 3 Tower located in front of Kato Jinja can see. Come haunts the progress of the reconstruction work of the Kumamoto Castle in the wounded. It takes about 20 years total reconstruction first and no. 2 Tower seems revive four years after (and two years later was said until recently).

While the shrine itself is nothing special there is a perk to this place. It offers a great view of the castle, especially now that you cannot get to the castle due to reconstruction.  more »

You can go to around the Kumamoto Castle. Padding from Kumamoto city, is 10 to 20 minutes. From this castle can see most often. Keep back taking pictures is far from the best.

Not much to see really. It gave a good view over Kumamoto castle which was unfortunately closed because of an earthquake the year before.

Kumamoto Castle is seen. Stone and sandbags are stacked too far toward the crumbling shrine is painful. Now visit the shrine inside is big sacred precincts around the shrine in the rain without an umbrella stopped rain. To the company in the back of body tenses.

The Castle seen from the nearest point is. For earthquake reconstruction work, we looked at the Castle from here for years is not allowed near the Castle. Enough to feel force of the splendid Castle in Kumamoto Castle. ★ wanted to put 5 to see the Castle and would interfere with vision panels and banners, ★ 4.

Where to stay in Kumamoto

By far the majority of the accommodations in Kumamoto lie to the east and south of the main park containing the castle. Ranging from budget guesthouses to luxury hotels, and even luxury guesthouses (traditional "ryokan," with onsite spas), the accommodations of this central district are spread fairly evenly between the park and Shirakawa River. Many visitors to Kumamoto opt to stay further to the west along one of the peninsulas that jut out into Shimabara Bay.
