  • A cruise that had stopped in the region of Kumamoto. Porto is approximately 50 minutes downtown Kumamoto. There's no bus or train we had to take taxi, approximate value of $100, 00dolares Americans. Worth every penny. Kato Shrime stands within local park of the Castle. A few minutes ' walk. Area with a small temple and handicraft market with souvenirs and typical foods. People with clothes typical of the region yields good pictures Without cost of ticket

  • Not much to see really. It gave a good view over Kumamoto castle which was unfortunately closed because of an earthquake the year before.
  • Not much to see. Right next to the castle.
  • Typical shrine. Good views of the Kumamoto Castle.
  • Nice!
  • Kato shrine throughout the 16 years to feel the aftermath of the earthquake hits, Kumamoto was close, but it places as much as you think are true Japanese ... At the time of the ' Star ' of my hometown is outside the walls crumbling down South did the quality Japanese de facto remained intact while watching here in the bitter termination. If you look at the only non-cotton is put away, I personally will see lots of Osaka Castle is much more than even ' star attraction could feel better. Kato shrine out of the walls was supposed to walk around at night along the ice walls, curvaceous (?) beautiful. In fact, watching daily jogging if you think the locals be able to refrain from classically. I am really speaking of real people who love madly Castle envy. HA ... + mikuji (Korean X)

Where to stay in Kumamoto

By far the majority of the accommodations in Kumamoto lie to the east and south of the main park containing the castle. Ranging from budget guesthouses to luxury hotels, and even luxury guesthouses (traditional "ryokan," with onsite spas), the accommodations of this central district are spread fairly evenly between the park and Shirakawa River. Many visitors to Kumamoto opt to stay further to the west along one of the peninsulas that jut out into Shimabara Bay.
