(4.2/5 based on 360+ reviews on the web)
The largest volcano in Japan and one of the largest in the world, Mt.Aso holds a ferocious reputation, its natural power a major influence on the surrounding landscape. The volcano's peak reaches a height of 1,592 m (5,223 ft), its ancient caldera about 25 km (15.5 mi) in diameter, with a 100 m (328 ft) circumference. It is important to note that the volcano's crater and surrounding area are often closed off due to activity, so check its status before planning to visit. An aerial lift provides a bird's-eye view of the dramatic landscape, while a parking lot only a minute's walk away caters to the less-able-bodied. • I went a few years ago. I went to various mountains, but anyway was magnificent. Norikura and Kamikochi delicate beauty I'd ASO feel massive strength. He proved to be... like how puny existence. Starting point just nervous and alert signs to go near the crater. Crater while everyone in their own "it now erupts after death".

  • Say "ASO" alone is not, in the narrow sense is also including Caldera or crater in the broadest sense, refers to any of the 5 peaks of Mt. Neko is in the Central volcanic cones, Takaoka, Mt. eboshi-Dake, Mt. kishima. It is in any case Japan away with magnificent views. It is most likely increases turnout Taikan peak is said to resemble a reclining Buddha in JAL recently, featuring the storm from ASO 5 Gaku is location.

  • So had never seen such a magnificent mountain looked up at the foot of ASO was thrilled. Big cow was grazing while steadily climbing all over the place. I think eruption risk, I couldn't get on the aerial tramway went I'd want to ride next time please.
