  • What to do on the island. I was also came with my daughter on this island for that, knowing that this place had served to draw landscapes of Princess Mononoké and have not been disappointed at all. Well get back to the office of tourism near the port bus timetables because there are few. 2 that go up in the morning and 2 AM and Ditto that down if you only take the bus concerned by the pass 1, 2 or 3 days you can buy at the tourist office (line blue buses). Join the bus stop number 25 called oharamachi on the road which made the tour of the island. Then are the dedicated buses rising (35 minutes of ascent). On arrival a little clear plan of 3 trips you can do (recoverable as at the tourist office). Trails to do with minimum gym shoes (we did it in flip flops and it's been through...). Under the trees all the time but hot and humid. The time shown on the plans are good: walking without hanging out all by taking the time of course to do lot of pictures we have 3 h for the orange route (bugyosugi cedar race) as shown. Well find their way to the small pink ribbons in trees if you have a doubt but it is well signposted. Most people seem to take rather the long journey of 4 hours which is terine apparently by a very nice point of view because it was crowded on the return path that is common with ours. While there is no one on our tour. It was very nice. Very beautiful places on the orange circuit: absolutely huge Cedars, of tender green foam gulp of moisture on the trees, the rocks, several torrents to cross on the rocks. ... to note that if it rains much access to this circuit may be banned because of this, the passages becoming impassable. It is then indicated by the guards at the entrance to the Park. But it's really like in the forest of Princess Mononoké. Great views from the bus in and down. Absolutely delighted of this market we had the chance to do the weather. Really to do! Advice: we added a half hour of ride and therefore could not take the blue bus that went down again at noon. But the following is.... 2: 40 p.m. and that was air any hope of doing the AM visits on the coast. We took a green bus at 1 pm, so paying as they are not affected by the bus pass. But it did cost 550 yen per person to the port and we won valuable time on this island where buses are rare and long travel times.

  • Periodically, make the most of natural cedar, Moss, mountain promenade is stable, so the weather and sense of hiking around the Cedar Yayoi has been. Depending on the weather or the rain walking carefully, small toilet near the entrance parking is just so caution is required.
