Head to Koyasan Danjo Garan for a peaceful atmosphere in the midst of tall shady trees. Established in 816 CE, the shrine features about 20 temples, mostly reconstructions of the original buildings. Taking almost 70 years to complete from 816 CE, the complex’s oldest building, the great pagoda, has been destroyed five times, mostly by lightning strikes. Also find Kondo, which has been rebuilt six times due to being destroyed by fire during its history. It dates back to 819 CE and is used to host religious ceremonies. • Root large buildings still represent the Koyasan. During the visit. Giant Buddha statues, richly-colored columns and walls painted portrait of Kukai and the high priest. Province-wide, world of Mandala and hear the rest.

  • Range, there are plenty of attractions. Good feelings even from the large parking lot near the shrine part. You can see even deeper: though derived from pine (Matsu guys = leaves 3 pine) on the Kobo Daishi.

  • This set of temples worth a quiet visit (and if possible without rain, thing that we fail). There are several buildings in which may be entered (almost all pre-paid) very interesting, both for architecture and Interior drawings or carvings. Bastente temples are different each other, being one of the most varied ensembles that we could see.

  • Impressive but small. Single room temple, but filled with impressive things.
