Kiyosumi Teien, Koto

(4.4/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Explore the flawlessly manicured oasis at Kiyosumi Teien. Having passed through the hands of various powers, the garden was donated to the city of Tokyo and opened to the public in 1932. Its current form represents the creation of the founder of Mitsubishi, who brought in renowned rocks from all over the country and channeled the waters of the Sumidagawa to create the picturesque pond. Wander the stepping stone paths, watch turtles and fish floating below the water's surface, and inspect the 4,000 trees clustered in this lush landscape. Nature lovers might want to bring a pair of binoculars to observe the many birds from the nearby river and bay attracted here. • In the past, kiyosumi garden birdwatching and asked. Close to the Sumida River, around somehow, is the atmosphere of the downtown. Was kinokuniya bunzaemon mansion in Edo was is now a garden some then Mitsubishi founder Iwasaki yatarō entrainment of the Sumidagawa river water, by placing many names stone is established as a garden. Now has managed capital. Iris garden of azalea mountain near ATRI herd, and was able to observe waterfowl such as ducks and Heron in the middle of day was made. I think that precious space in the middle of the city. I want to visit seasons.

  • A beautiful garden, large and well maintained, further away from the center of Tokyo than other sites. Even if you've already seen some beautiful gardens, this one is magnificent with splendid trees pruned very old, 2 bodies of water, and small bridges, a tea house, turtles and people everywhere. It's a great cheap ride at some metro stations. The central island of the first pond is very photogenic, as well as the large tea house. Few places to sit, but there is a second pond more at the bottom, certainly less beautiful, but with some flower beds and benches. There are more quiet to relax.
