Tokyo Metropolitan Koganei Park, Koganei

4.5
#2 of 9 in Things to do in Koganei
Enjoy colorful collections of flowers at Tokyo Metropolitan Koganei Park, the second largest park in Tokyo's metropolitan area, and one of the rare spots where no skyscrapers obstruct the skyline. With almost 2,000 cherry trees, the park also features spacious meadows, playgrounds for children, archery facilities, and 16 tennis courts. Many locals picnic, cycle, walk their dogs, or barbecue in specially marked areas. A bird sanctuary and an old steam engine with a car on display add to the diversity of the relaxing park, which also has many food stands and old-style houses turned into souvenir shops. • Base is a large park in the free. Edo-Tokyo open air architectural Museum and pay nothing, but SL, cherry blossom fairies, or children's toys. Baseball fields and tennis courts. Barbecue Plaza on the West side, was there selling tools and ingredients, feel free to enjoy barbecue. Saturday and Sunday and the cherry blossom is very crowded parking lot.

  • It's an excellent place for kids to have fun and play around . Huge space ,jungle and Sakura forest are other attractions !! swimming pool and gym are other attractions ( (200 yen per hour for use ) !!! No entrance fee in the park and open all days in week !!!!! 24 hours open !!
  • Pack your picnic and you can easily spend a whole day here with kids. There are plenty bathrooms, water fountains and even a convenient store.
  • Big park. Lots of space to hangout with a group. Great cherry blossoms
  • Especially for tourists from overseas, this is a good place for relaxing and learning Japanese architectures in the museum. If you really want to enjoy cherry blossoms, I highly recommend this park.
  • Nice and well maintained Park, some times there is a flea market conducting, while I don't know the schedule but by chance I've been in that flea markets. That is giving more joy to be there, specially along with your kids
