Kofu Castle, Kofu

2.8/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web
Take a leisurely stroll around the 16th-century remains of Kofu Castle, once a formidable castle, now a park, commonly used by locals for relaxing and walking. Following the original castle's abandonment in 1877, the government dismantled the historic site bit by bit until 1930. Today a plethora of plaques around the park give you an idea of what the castle once looked like by explaining where old castle features such as walls and doors stood. You can still find some of the original walls and steps, particularly around the outskirts of the site, however mostly flat green grassy patches and newly built footpaths remain. • The castle is situated directly near Kofu station. Unfortunately, the main tower was not preserved-from her left only the stone base. Climbing on it, weather permitting away you can see Mount Fuji. There is a small museum. In the Park near the castle of Sakura trees a lot-probably very beautiful when they bloom.

  • Ishigaki is respectable but not standing near Kofu station and restore Inari turret and iron gates can you imagine at the time. Station are lit and clean.

  • When you stayed in Kofu City went for a morning walk. There is atmosphere, Maizuru Castle Park and stone walls, but I become a place of recreation and relaxation for citizens. There is good as well as other tourist destinations of the Castle are hardly the view of Kofu, somehow, the appearance of the Castle, such as floating in my mind. There may be a touristy and too much not to. To visit other tourist seen alone but might not feel much satisfaction Kofu station, so I think point is high. A pity we didn't visit, but on the other side of the line mimics the Toson Memorial, warehouse stores and museums.
