Explore the city's port area during a visit to Meriken Park, a waterfront area offering a range of cultural sites. Lawns and courtyards provide ample room for recreational activities and relaxation, with the grounds neatly punctuated by contemporary sculptures and fountains. The park displays some of the city's most cherished Modernist architectural works, including the buildings that house the maritime museum and the iconic port tower. Devastated by the 1995 earthquake, the park contains a memorial to those who lost their lives here during the disaster. In addition, saved part of Meriken Harbor in the earthquake which devastated Kobe Harbor earthquake Memorial Park. And don't forget Kobe Tower. So many highlights.

  • So beautiful park with the views of Kobe port. Great architecture.
  • I spent 2 hours strolling around this park during the evening. The scenery is beautiful and romantic. Suitable for couples.
  • Nothing really amazing in this park but worth the tour if you're in Kobe. A nice view on the tower (better at night), and the Kobe port earthquake memorial nearby (worth it, go there!). It's a clean and relax area where you can chill out and have a walk...
  • Where the Japanese people came out to the world.
  • I hope to see again once severe damage because remnants of the disaster. As Ocean Park widely and there are many places to sit, is a pleasant Park. Hopelessly shady, so prepared for the summer.
