(3.9/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
Explore the city's port area during a visit to Meriken Park, a waterfront area offering a range of cultural sites. Lawns and courtyards provide ample room for recreational activities and relaxation, with the grounds neatly punctuated by contemporary sculptures and fountains. The park displays some of the city's most cherished Modernist architectural works, including the buildings that house the maritime museum and the iconic port tower. • It was excursions of 2 grade of elementary school when I first visited the Meriken Harbor (now Meriken Park). Foreign feel very lyrics they say Meriken harbor at the time, it seemed. Meriken Harbor once in 1987 (0/1987) and Kobe port tower stands as one of the Kobe port project in reclaimed from the jetty, was made. One of the traditional landscape of Kobe port, Kobe Maritime Museum, Hotel Okura was built there, now. Bell Tower to commemorate the annual 1-Kobe Festival in 1990 (0/1990) on the central lawn and furnished sculptures commemorating the opening of "fish dance" by the famous architect Frank Gehry's 120th anniversary in 1987 (0/1987) on the north side with "Altern CIA Bell" was established. Without restoring the Meriken Harbor 1 image on the East side, collapsed by hyogoken nanbu earthquake (great Hanshin-Awaji earthquake), 1995 (0/1995) dare to leave port established in 1997 (0/1997), contains a valuable record of the earthquake. Referred to beauty of a tower at the base of the jetty in Jetty on the West side of Meriken Harbor in the South of the old settlement (now Meriken Park) was built in the Taisho era, Kobe port tower built in that will. Meriken Park Oriental Hotel is located on the Jetty point, 1 - 2nd floor C.I.Q.(customs, immigration and quarantine of animals and plants, etc.) with facilities in nakatottei passenger terminal there. In late 1990s, construction of new passenger terminal in nakatottei Central (terminals) reclaimed sea between the domestic dockside Pant as Kobe port tower becomes a land from a Jetty on the West Coast Jetty was once a 700 m long and approximately 500 m shorter. Tip 286 m now uses as an ocean-going cruise liners and long distance ferryboats berth. Depth corresponds to 50000-ton vessels berthing at about 9 m, plays the role as a gateway to the port of Kobe after Kobe port terminal (Shinko Pier No. 4). Is the Jetty on the East Bank restaurant vessels luminous Kobe 2 dedicated berths, and must have a pedway from Kaigan-Dori Jetty to the tip. From there Harbor land and Crossway in the port you can get Vista, such as cruise ships.

  • It is a park facing the Sea made the Kobe port 120 anniversary. Between nakatottei and Meriken Harbor on a landfill, was created. In the vicinity of the Kobe port Tower and Kobe Maritime Museum, hotels and other buildings and views of the port of Kobe are shaping atmosphere.

  • Great park with wonderful night views. Many festivals and flea markets there on the weekends. Nice place to go running. Or spend time with family and friends. As of (August 2016) most of the park if under construction and off limits.
  • Really nice at night, great views and wonderful atmosphere. My favorite part of visiting Kobe besides the beef.
  • Wonderful park with nice views of the port.
  • Beautiful for a nice walk on either dusk or dawn.
  • Nice view, good place to sit and chill after long day!
