Where to stay in Kobe

Kobe does best with sleek mid-range and high-end hotels offering views of the skyline; book rooms facing south for views of the bay during the day and the city lights at night. Luxury hotels along the waterfront are pricey but offer impeccable comfort and service. You can find last-minute accommodations at the city's budget hotels from the information desk in the main train station or online. For a very Japanese experience, try out one of the city's capsule hotels, known for ingenious space efficiency.

  • Mosaic is a very popular shopping mall with some of the best views of the city of Kobe and port area. Bring your camera. Lots of stores and places to eat. Kid friendly - saws lots of families there.  more »
  • The shopping street was much more interesting. What amazes me is the connectionsbetween the shoppings and ... Almost all on covered stairways. That's pretty cool.  more »
  • When I back to Kansai international airport I just stop by at Umie for 2hous only. I don't have enough time to shop at Umie. I just eat and drink at Nana's Green Tea and buy books at Ogaki bookstore. ...  more »

  • Easy to access from JR Kobe Station, and full of stores that appeal to local and international visitors. It's right next to MOSAIC area, where you can hang out near Kobe Port Tower and all the tourist areas nearby. The only downside is knowing when certain shops close if you're visiting late. For instance, the food court generally closes at 9, but last orders are taken well in advance of that. Luckily Promena is nearby and its food court is open late, and so are MOSAIC restaurants. Do your research in case you are hungry!
  • There is a nice Brazilian barbecue restaurant on 3 floor with a nice view of the harbor. It's also a cozy department store to expend the afternoon.
  • Basic mall. Reasonable shops and food. Nothing that remarkable though.
  • The shopping street was much more interesting. What amazes me is the connectionsbetween the shoppings and 🏨... Almost all on covered stairways. That's pretty cool.
  • Located closer to the Iconic Kobe Port Tower. Umie is a is large shopping mall with something for everyone! There are plenty of restaurants to enjoy a decent meal, and if you go with your kids, you must visit the popular "Toys R Us" store where you won't be able to take them out for hours...! You can spend an entire day here doing shopping, dining and relaxing.
