Kobe City Oji Zoo, Kobe

4.1
#1 of 94 in Fun & Games in Kinki
Playground Garden
Part of the "Animal Supporter System," Kobe City Oji Zoo houses around 850 animals from a total of 150 different species. The 80,000 sq m (861,100 sq ft) zoo contains many animals rarely in the wild, such as giant panda, golden snub-nosed monkey, Amur tiger, and snow leopard. Children have a special section where they can pet rabbits and goats, and the Fierce Animal Coliseum lets you observe big cats through thick glass windows. After examining the animal life, head over to the recreational area to ride the Ferris wheel and see an authentic D51 steam locomotive. A visit to Kobe City Oji Zoo represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Kobe vacation route planner to plot your vacation.

  • If you live in the Kansai region, close to the other pandas. Hankyu OJI-Koen station, 3 minutes walk from JR "Nada" station, a 5-minute walk from Kobe private Zoo is. Location is very good, feel free to. Especially on weekdays will be slowly looking animals. As well as the Panda, Koala, too. Tend to be sleeping but the movement is so funny and cute. It is very nice. So was moving actively and even other animals and even hot summer fun. It is a Zoo, children as well as adults.

  • This zoo is one of our most favorite spots in Kobe. Great for kids in all ages. The facilities are very old but well maintained. It has wide variety of animals from pandas to gorillas, penguins to polar bears, elephants to ostriches. Don't miss the baby hippo usually under the water with mom. It is also one of the best spots for cherry blossoms in Kobe around late April. Check the special night opening hours to experience surreal beauty during the cherry blossom season. There is a small amusement park inside the zoo for short enjoyment. I can't recommend the restaurants in the zoo as they are mediocre at best. Plan for a half day.
  • A nice place to bring kids to. The cherry blossom there is also beautiful.
  • Located about 3km away from Sannomiya. You can take the Kobe City-line bus number 92 from Sannomiya and get off right in front of the Zoo. Entrance ticket for adults costs only 600 Yen and children below 4 years can enter for free. They have a good variety of animals and don't miss out to see the giant panda! It is said that this is the only zoo where you can see both Giant Panda Bears and Koalas in Japan. In addition to the animals, they have an amusement park inside the Zoo where you can enjoy with your young children.
  • Penguins, Beers, Lions, Tigers, Pandas, Elephants, Flamingos, loads of Monkeys, Alligators, Polar Bears, a three legged Lima... And loads more. This Zoo has got the lot. Great for kids of all ages, excellent value for money and if you are not exhausted after the exotic animal overload there's a cute Ferris Wheel and train ride for the kids at the end. (Avoid the food stands, greasy junk, but it is a zoo not a restaurant!). We live in London and this beats London Zoo hands down. On the whole the animals didn't seem too sad to be behind bars, apart from one suicidal looking Black Bear, but he could just have been having a bad day.
  • Various type of animal and specially panda .really enjoyed a lot here ..
