Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum, Kobe

4.2
Observe the process of sake production at Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum, an old brewery now refurbished into a major tourist attraction. Realistic mannequin dolls and real tools and equipment vividly display the process of making Japan's most popular national drink. Every stage is depicted in detail, and the amount of work and passion put into the exhibits is clearly visible here. The self-guided tour ensures you go at your own pace, while highly educative videos in English narrate the history of the former brewery. At the end of the tour, stop by the tasting room to try some sake and purchase a few drinkable souvenirs for all the folks back home. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Kobe holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • For Sake Lovers.. MUST visit. Excellent museum on Sake making. And Shop selling everything needed for Sake.
  • Interesting nice and clean. Some wine tasting. Not much English but is used to tourists
  • Great free experience learning about the sake making process. Stop by before or after you try some Kobe Steak.
  • Nice education of how sake is made. Free tasting of some sake and a great shop and a delicious sake ice cream.
  • Great for tourists to learn about sake-making, there are english videos with the exhibits to help understand the process. The best part of it it's that it's free, but you're likely tempted spend some $$ at the end to get something to bring home!
