Arima Onsen, Kobe

4.1
#1 of 215 in Spas in Kinki
Take a dip in one of Japan’s oldest bathhouses, Arima Onsen, a hot spring resort in a scenic mountain setting. Mentioned in documents for the past millennium, the resort offers two public bathhouses and a number of inns that feature baths for non-staying visitors. Explore the small town, check out the hot springs museum, or sample cookies made with mountain spring water. Have a traditional onsen experience and bathe in two types of hot spring waters: the “gold,” which is rich in salt and iron, and the “silver,” which contains radium and carbonate. Using our custom trip planner, Kobe attractions like Arima Onsen can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • Some rank it as the third best onsen town in Japan . Located only 30 minutes by JR Express Bus from Sannomiya Kobe. The quaint onsen town is well known for its 2 types of spring water . Kinsen ( gold ...  more »

  • A really great place to chill out after a long day of hiking in the mountains of Kobe ! The hot springs are very relaxing and I am definitely recommending everyone to go there since it is one of the best onsen in Kansai. There is two type of onsen: the gold one and the silver one. Both of those are usually very crowded so I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to try out one of those that are in the hotels located around the place.
  • Very convenient onsen area, just 30 min bus from Kobe. Some good tourist spots and comfortable paths to walk around the area. The place in general has charged premium on the convenience though... there are many places in Japan which can offer similar experience with lower price (but will be more remote for sure)
  • One of the best Hot spring area in Japan.
  • Relax!!
  • Rural spa town ^^ Arima Onsen station in Econo-Yu made the move as the shuttle ride. Bath is recommended to go early in the morning and. .. Going on the evening bath a bit. .. Don't go walking but blah blah and attaches itself to the wall side of the bath, sitting in the shower I use the sewer smell wonderful open-air bath ㅠ ㅠ climbed!! If you use ground freezing in the winter and slippery be careful bringing chuckles, especially at night! No such thing as a curling iron or squealing district personally to prevent by blocking out the outlet used up! Dryer body soap shampoo conditioner levels. was ^^ per second visit ... When I visited in the morning is the satisfaction and more. ^^
