  • Shibamata, Katsushika-Ku downtown town, get off the Shibamata station on Keisei line and Taishakuten until approach immediately. Right-dining and less sweet and Ministry of Rice cracker shop, souvenir shop, many still lined shop, it only can be enjoyed. 10 minutes walk will take you to Taishakuten. I think the temple was founded about ninety years before the sculpture Gallery, entrance fee is ¥ 400, exterior carved in wood by the hokke Sutra stories in splendid, this wall alone is worth. The adjacent garden tour. Also, such as Tora-San Memorial nearby, it is perfect to the tourist.

  • It's not so much the exterior façade of the temple to leave blown away, but the rest of the building which is located inside a capsule of glass to protect it from the elements. The wooden sculptures surrounding the prayer hall are amazingly detailed and you can see the high level of craftsmanship that they represent. There are ten panels on the walls, all based on scenes of the Lotus Sutra and each of them tells a different story.

  • The temple is beautiful if you like wood carvings should not miss.
  • One of Tokyo's most beautiful temples. Wanna visit here again.
  • The place is beautiful but it felt like a tourist trap with a guy doing some performance with his monkey.
  • Well worth to visit
