Resembling an entrance to an underground cave complex, Stone Church features leaning stone-and-glass arches arranged like a cut-up boulder in a terrace-shaped slabs. Built in 1988 by Kendrik Kellog, a proponent of organic architecture, the church commemorates Uchimura Kanzo (1861-1930), a Christian evangelist. Inside the church, you'll see rows of long pews and a stone altar, with lower parts of the walls inside this well-lit church covered with leaves. A popular venue for wedding ceremonies, performed both in Japanese and English, the church closes for visitors during private services. Take a free shuttle bus or taxi from Karuizawa station, which takes about 15 minutes. • Asked Sunday in September. Because the wedding was done but unfortunately I turned look only. A short walk off the main road at the entrance to note writing, etc. If the Assistant was had, was a waste of time.

  • See Saturday and Sunday, put in the Church is quite limited, so 欠kemashita to make the most sense. Just looking from a distance look just a solemn feeling.

  • In short, walking from the parking lot of the hotel. Enjoy the great stone from the road until you reach the entrance of the natural and harmonious architecture. Walk into the Church and was impressed by its grandeur even more. As I had ever seen a stone church that came to the world dimension of a very strange feeling. I think that the building is worth a visit once it is unfortunately take some pictures, but.
