Karatsu trip planner

The coastal city of Karatsu has long held importance for trade with China and the Korean Peninsula. Though it has a history of whaling, the city now profits primarily from its earthenware products, and trips to pottery studios rank highly on most trips to Karatsu. Acting as a gateway to the rural peninsula, the city provides a base for explorations of the natural attractions and remote historic sites, including the impressive coastline and ancient ruins hidden among the hills of the interior.
