Designed with a hip House. One-story portion is to upstairs to sukiya style, beauty is an irregular structures. Particular favorites are between an audience and Ultramarine.

  • Inside the Kenroku-en I visited the only residence of a samurai worthy of the name, is also to be one of the most elegant among those survived in the whole Japan. Belonging to a clan member Maeda is a beautiful residence of the late nineteenth century that deserves a visit. Its interior, as always fairly minimal furnishings, we would sell in the West to the 1920s both approaches our Deco. To visit you first have to buy the ticket for the Park, 300 Yen, and then make a second, 700 Yen, to access inside the House. Open during the same hours in the Park, from 9 to 17.

  • For the admission fee of ¥700 we found it to be somewhat boring with very limited English explanations about the history of the house and artifacts. No audio guide. Samurai house or Shima house were m...  more »

  • They do have a nice collection of antiquities but almost no description in English. What is the point of looking at beautifully craft objects if you have no idea of what they were used for. This is definitly not worth a 1000 ¥.
  • A stunning building! In my opinion a mußt See in Kanazawa.
  • Amazing traditional mansion (villa) from 1863 of Kaga lord Maeda.
  • Nice villa, reminding me of some of the nicest temples of Kyoto. However, what really sets it apart is the coloring of the 2F. Sadly, the gardens are not wortg mentioning. The price is steep, and I wouldn't call it a must-see.
  • Kaga Lord, Saito Hiroshi Maeda house built for the wife and son of Saito, for my mother, decorated with House. Bullet train designer receives a tip during this residence Ultramarine, determine the color coordination. In addition, Riku Onda's 2005 novel Eugenia (mass poisoning cases happened in Kanazawa) also will be at stake in seisonkaku. Riku Onda went in Kanazawa, repeatedly in the interview notes, every time and has said, at 6 Park, in seisonkaku seisonkaku room and color also is eccentric (Kikyo) is a bad feeling. In the novel, in seisonkaku calm and brave space hero feels fear.

Where to stay in Kanazawa

The well-preserved castle town of Kanazawa has a good range of accommodations, with the most popular among them sitting in tall modern blocks overlooking the historical areas of town, or the more commercial parts. Look to the west of the castle grounds for some particularly well-positioned options, offering urban views, spas, pools, and restaurants. North-west from here, close to the main train station, you'll find a good selection of slightly simpler options in tall blocks, while the residential districts across the city house simple guesthouses and the odd hostel.
