Kazuemachi Tea House Street, Kanazawa
(4/5 based on 140+ reviews on the web)
Tea houses and traditional houses sit under cherry trees at Kazuemachi Tea House Street, a major Edo-period city historical district that overlooks the Asanogawa River. Squeezed between two walkable bridges, the site is especially worth visiting if you are looking for a tea house experience of old Japan. The site features minimal lighting, lanterns, bamboo fences, old wooden facades, and small shops and alleys. Don't miss the tea house experience in this traditional geisha district, which includes the sounds of string instruments, bamboo flutes, and drums in the evenings. • Kazue-Cho Chaya district is located along the River on the way to the famous Higashi Chaya district from Kanazawa Station. Lit up, is a beautiful place.

  • The big bus loads of tourists don't seem to come to this district so it is much quieter. Just across the street and river from the bigger geisha district, this is very small and quiet.
  • The kitsu ryokan located in 浅野川 along with my family. Stayed at Room 301 in the air out. Nicely maintained customer service, Vista also taste good. Fantastic with the ball so good (≧ ∇ ≦) do come back!
