  • Spent high school to my hometown Kanazawa in the big record stores "mountain animal". Go there and buy a record like that is, common citizens like music fun. The mountain has been leading the music culture of Kanazawa from before World War II includes in-hand-cranked Gramophone amounting to several hundred cars didn't slaughter went bankrupt in early 2000, but have amassed the then owner, Hiroshi 八日市屋, Gramophone inventor Edison for more than 100 years ago. Gramophone with 20000 copies SP records donated to Kanazawa's publicly accessible as a Kanazawa phonograph Museum in 2001. Rather than just displaying the concept of the hotel, said that to entertain the visitors actually let. Events to experience SP Edition few 10 gramophone to listen than actually does anyone know the music that day been held three times. Powerful sound from the speakers at all without the use of electricity in spring incorporating a trumpet to a power source is surprised and impressed.

  • This was a nice spot to step out of the rain. Hard for me to fully understand...most parts of the museum and it is somewhat short. All in all I enjoyedy time. Inexpensive to go in. Relaxed time checking out antigue phonographs and the beginning has a spot where you could listen to record for a bit.
  • So many phonograph models.. Arrived just in time to hear the talk about the history of phonographs and vinyls. There was an English guide with pictures so it was possible to understand the talk even though it was in Japanese. There was also a vinyl library for us to listen to vinyls (on contemporary machines of course, complete with headphones).
  • If you're into the history of recorded music, this is a must. This privately acquired collection of phonographs from all over the world is incredible and the museum staff are well informed and passionate about the exhibits.
  • Listened to Coltrain and relaxed, was fantastic!
  • You can see the rare phonograph facilities. Music storage unit per depending on day of week, time of day than events. It is a museum can be a valuable experience.

Where to stay in Kanazawa

The well-preserved castle town of Kanazawa has a good range of accommodations, with the most popular among them sitting in tall modern blocks overlooking the historical areas of town, or the more commercial parts. Look to the west of the castle grounds for some particularly well-positioned options, offering urban views, spas, pools, and restaurants. North-west from here, close to the main train station, you'll find a good selection of slightly simpler options in tall blocks, while the residential districts across the city house simple guesthouses and the odd hostel.
