  • Yoritomo Minamoto no Sanetomo Duke Duke enshrined at the Shinto Shrine precincts of the tsurugaoka hachimangu shrine main shrine toward the right. Black-painted DW is plenty of stately, samurai style.

  • Located on the left of the staircase leading to the grave of Minamoto no Yoritomo. Wrote in front of the shrine comes from (maybe elementary school or junior high school students) was on paper. Flag name is likely be traced to the white flag in the colors of the tale of Genji. This neighborhood is a residential area.

  • Viewed from the East side of wakamiya hachimangu shrine is crowded, so. Then with familiar cultural assets guide plate on top immediately and prayed. Well, there was a fairly large sanctuary. I guess what is main building cannot see how beautiful. BTW shirahata Jinja, shrine near two. Which is it?.

  • The shrine area is called alias "hokkedo" derives from that there was a temple dedicated to Minamoto no Yoritomo. Listed according to the Azuma-Kagami, the temple is built 0/1189 (1189). Revered as a precinct that ranged from the death of Yoritomo jibutsudo "protection of Kamakura shogunate, tsurugaoka hachimangu shrine, katsunaga-in Temple and par. Tsurugaoka hachimangu shrine with monks core transmission of the Director during the Edo period. And what is with the shinbutsu bunri of the Meiji era, became the shirahata Jinja 0/1872 (1872). Now snow, under the district's Deus Ex Machina, and precinct are designated.

Given the easy access from Tokyo via a number of public transport options, the vast majority of visitors to Kamakura choose to stay in the capital and head here for a day trip. If you feel there's too much to see in one day, then you'll be pleased to find a decent selection of accommodations in Kamakura itself. Down by the sea sit perhaps the most luxurious of the crop, with sea views high on the list of desires for those who stay here. Follow the river as it snakes inland past the train station, and you'll see a good number of more standard hotels, as well as particularly budget-friendly guesthouses.
