Kakegawa Castle, Kakegawa

(3.9/5 based on 180+ reviews on the web)
Take in the striking Irayama-style architecture of Kakegawa Castle. Originally completed in 1487, the citadel has now been restored to its former glory, using traditional techniques and materials. Observe displays of weapons, armor, and documents in the building, and look out for the strategically placed ambush hideout on the way in. You should prepare for an uphill walk to where the castle perches, so wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water along with you. See Kakegawa Castle and all Kakegawa has to offer by arranging your trip with our Kakegawa itinerary planner.

  • Kakegawa Castle seen from the Kakegawa station, walk, arrived in about 10 minutes. Felt similar to the Kochi Castle the castle was rebuilt. More Villa was great! The nationally rare extant Castle Palace was thrilled. Is the atmosphere that the texture is a building of the late Edo period, 0/1868 through the Kakegawa domain was unbearable.

  • Completely newly built building in the Castle, atop the mountain vistas and views one love. Excellent toy I chiika won't feel. I felt motivation, such as make a banner on the drama starting from the new year.

  • Japanese castles are so interesting, even when you don't know all that much about the history. The gardens here are lovely, too.  more »

  • Small but very beautiful castle. You can view the entire kakegawa from the castle keep. On a clear day you can have a glimpse of mt fuji. Highly recommended for visiting kakegawa since its just a few blocks from the station.
  • Beautiful, must see. Pretty cheap. Don't forget to get the matcha ice cream down the hill after.

  • すごい😆
  • Is a reprint, wooden 4-story staircase steep if you tell after about 100 years worth up next to the Palace is the building during the Edo period
