Sengan-en Garden, Kagoshima

(4.3/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web)
Take a relaxing stroll through Sengan-en Garden, a scenic Japanese-style garden that forms part of a World Heritage Site. Built in 1658 as a private residence for the Shimazu Clan, the gardens are renowned for offering postcard-like views of the majestic Mt. Sakurajima in the background. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere as you roam the luscious landscape, sprinkled with ponds, picturesque stone bridges, bamboo groves, and an array of seasonal trees and plants. For an additional fee, you can take a short tour of the Iso villa, reconstructed in the 19th century. • Is known as the garden of the Shimazu family. I think if you come to Kagoshima is always passionate. Prosperity of the Shimazu family of yesteryear is evident. I would wander around the garden while watching the cherry Island great.
