Packed with stuffed bears of all shapes and sizes, Izu Teddy Bear Museum provides a touch of the cute and cuddly. Presenting bears of predominantly English style, the collection boasts numerous examples from all over the world, including a record-breaking bear named "Teddy Girl," which sold at auction in London for 18 million yen. Animation fans might be interested to know that the museum also holds a special exhibition of artifacts relating to the famed Studio Ghibli film "My neighbor Totoro." • Besides Teddy bears, they have other exhibits eg. Tottoro. Really lovely museum to go. You can go to the tea room next door after your visit.  more »
  • There is not much to view. Less than 30 mins you can finish this museum. I don't think the ticket worth the money. But if you traveled to Izukogen with children, you could give it a chance. The...  more »

  • very remotely place . I came because kanahei event . the exhibition is too small. however the shop carry variety of goods to choose . the cafe scenario is nice .
  • Loads of adorable teddy bears ranging from 2-3 meters to 1mm in size. You can explore the whole place and take a photo op in the catbus from My Neighbor Totoro within an hour, and pick up your own Japanese-made teddy bear at the gift shop. The walk to and from the train station is absolutely magical, and the nature trail on the way is well worth taking.
  • Well designed museum with a gift shop and a restaurant attached. Exhibits are well thought out, although explanations are mostly in Japanese.
  • Must visit for Totoro fans
  • If you are not big fan of teddy bear you can just stop by the museum shop. The ticket costs 1080 yen but the museum is only 2 floors and I finished in 10 minutes.
