Widely known for its bountiful reef teeming with marine life, Yonehara Beach remains a popular spot for amateur snorkelers looking for underwater adventure. At the back of the reef, a deep drop-off provides satisfying exploration opportunities for the more experienced divers. Check weather reports and exercise caution in the water, particularly at the break toward the back of reef where the currents can be very strong. Restrooms and showers are available on site. The beach was super empty and we got a nice corner spot just for us. Water is super still and lots of corals and fish if you want to enjoy snorkeling. There are no facilities around so make sure to... more »

In terms of beach, this may not be one of the best in Ishigaki but quite good for snorkeling from beach. Plenty of parking around for 500 yen. more »

We visited on a Saturday morning and the beach was practically empty! We caught the first bus to the beach from the bus terminal at around 8:30am (the buses are super easy to navigate!) using the day.... more »

Great beach with beautiful coral reefs and lots of colourful fish ranging from small bright blue ones to rainbow coloured ones and lots in-between. Some small and others relatively large. Beautiful corals too. All very easy to swim out to. Would recommend you bring shoes or similar to swim with given that the mussels on the beach can be a bit sharp, and also to protect yourself out in the water. While I didn't see any dangerous jellyfish or other sea animals, I've read they can be present. So better be careful. You can rent snorkeling gear by the parking lot and buy drinks, but I didn't see much other food around. Restrooms and water tap to wash your feet and gear also available between the beach and the parking lot. High tides in the morning and low in the afternoon. In general, it was a fantastic beach. Not too over crowded. Would definitely come again. Best snorkeling on the island.

There is a coral reef immediately from the sandy beach, and you can see the fish. Even if you don't have snorkeling gear, you can enjoy it with underwater goggles. It was a good place to enjoy the beauty of the sea comfortably with parents and children.See original

I couldn't get to nemo's. Various fish were swimming in a place close to comparatively. There were a lot of people who gave bread. There is a paid shower on the paid parking lot side, but it was easier to put water in a plastic bottle by yourself.See original

On the third day of my trip to Ishigaki Island, I snorkeled at Yonehara Beach. There are two signs called Yonehara Beach entrance in the parking lot, and the free parking lot is already full at 10 o'clock. I decided to park a paid parking lot. The parking fee is 500 yen. It was easy from the parking lot to the beach. Because there is a place of the sandy beach and the coral at the time of the wave, it is better to play on the sandy beach if you play barefoot. Is the sharpness of the sea a good one? At this time of the year, it was easy to get a lot of plankton, but I could see quite a bit. (The color of the sea is not good because it was cloudy.;)) It is a snorkeling point, If you swim a little, you will soon be able to see small blue fish and various fish. If you bring fish sausages and porridge, you can enjoy snorkeling more because a lot of fish and fish come to you♪See original
