Cape Hirakubozaki, Ishigaki

4.4
#1 of 41 in Outdoors in Ishigaki
Situated on a vast pastureland where farm life blossoms, Cape Hirakubozaki offers plenty of space for relaxed exploration. Roam the surrounding hills where you can sit down, take a break, and have a picnic. If you arrive at the cape via car (preferably with four-wheel drive), take the dirt roads to uncover pristine parts of nature where people rarely venture. Thanks to the abundant tame animal life here, you can observe and interact with passing horses and cows, or go fishing in the bountiful sea. The area usually gets very busy during the day, so expect scarce free parking spaces. If here at the end of the day, head to the solitary white lighthouse at the tip for expansive views of the setting sun. • It is a bit of a drive to Cape Hirakubozaki, the most northern tip of Ishigaki island, but you will be rewarded with splendid views. We went on a cloudy and windy day, but the views from the lighthous...  more »
  • I have plenty of Lighthouse on Miyako Island and Ishigaki Island, like people like, I wonder. You can relax in the beautiful sea, clear sky, weather permitting.

  • Lighthouse Lighthouse hirakubo Cape on the northernmost point of Ishigaki-jima, Buffy was recognized. 6-7 car parking spaces and toilets are installed. You can also go by bus (transport plain line), from the bus stop one way walk about 20 minutes on, time will be 10 minutes. It seems to best spot watching the starry sky at night. Unable 2 days but stayed in and also looked in the rain, but it is a regret.

Where to stay in Ishigaki

The greatest abundance of accommodations on Ishigaki sit in the city of the same name. Lining the island's south coast, a number of high-rise hotels and resort-style options provide standard to luxury rooms and additional facilities, including restaurants, spas, and pools. Budget-conscious travelers will want to check out the "minshukus" (hostels with private and dormitory-style rooms), generally located in the city, but on streets further back from the sea. The northern coast of the island has its fair share of accommodations too, following the same rules as the south, but without the same breadth of choice.
