Imabari Castle, Imabari

(3.9/5 based on 180+ reviews on the web)
Step back in time and explore the early 17th-century atmosphere at Imabari Castle, one of the three well-known "castles on the sea." Though destroyed by order of the Meiji rulers, the edifice underwent reconstruction in 1980. Observe the citadel's ingenious seawater moat, which can control the water level through use of the tides and a series of sluice gates. As you enter, note the unusual main gate, featuring iron plating and turrets. Climb to the top of the castle for views of the surrounding complex, moat, and cityscape and port beyond. • From Imabari station walking 15 minutes. Bus routes. It is one of three major castles of Japan. Castle is a reconstruction, but the contrast between the moat is beautiful. In the Castle Tower is a museum. Because, although not a weak person.... You feel to have look at the Seto Inland Sea from the top floor of the Castle.
