Imabari Castle, Imabari

3.9
#2 of 8 in Historic Sites in Imabari
Step back in time and explore the early 17th-century atmosphere at Imabari Castle, one of the three well-known "castles on the sea." Though destroyed by order of the Meiji rulers, the edifice underwent reconstruction in 1980. Observe the citadel's ingenious seawater moat, which can control the water level through use of the tides and a series of sluice gates. As you enter, note the unusual main gate, featuring iron plating and turrets. Climb to the top of the castle for views of the surrounding complex, moat, and cityscape and port beyond. It is few in the Japan Sea along the Castle. See the big fish is swimming, which water is drawn into the moat. Is only a reconstruction of buildings that is a little disappointing, but were firmly explained and, descriptive exhibit history. Later, the toilet walls of the castle in Edo period stone wall intact and available was. Watching, I felt strange.

Imabari Ehime had done several times, but went for the first time. Was time limited, but still Castle is a must! During the bus ride to texport found! After the shopping we went sightseeing. The top floor of the castle in observation units, frequently felt I'm the Museum floor. Personally loves this system becomes Lord of the Castle mood, can simply at the time of construction. Inspiring views from the Castle where Castle again. Fortification at the oceanfront in the influx of salt water in the moat's too innovative! Todo Takatora's sense was rolled up and admire. Throughout the grounds are bulk rates we learn in the exhibition is a nice angle, Nice. Stamp rally has as a result postcards the Castle until, satisfied. A Sunday though not to many people, as the visitors comfortably, but so nice to waste fewer tourists, and thought. Personally it is quite recommended. In a different season is gone also. Local bus, use the public transportation IC card of nationwide powerful I'm a ~. The next bike I I ~.

Good view from the top of the castle. It costs 500 yen for adults, and it includes the tower in the center as well as three turrets on the sides of the castle. A nice surprise was a big bird cage by the shrine.

Castle on the water. Very nice. Natural museum section, which talks about the nature around the castle, Imabari and Seto Inland Sea in general, is included in the main tower.

The accommodations of Imabari sit in the main city center on Shikoku, as well as on the islands of Oshima, Hakata, and Omishima. Business hotels predominate in the main urban area close to the station, with standard rooms, pools, and onsite restaurants.
